Johnston
Gabrielle

Gabrielle Johnston is a Phoenix-based interior designer turned studio artist and curator, using her industry-honed eye to craft original and commissioned textural works tailored to a designer’s vision or a collector’s heart. Her work explores form, texture, and atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the raw beauty of the desert. She creates sculptural pieces that are both minimal and grounded, often incorporating tactile elements like rope, plaster, and other organic materials to evoke a sense of connection and memory.
Gabrielle studied painting at Parsons School of Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, later earning her BFA in Interior Design from Moore College of Art & Design.
After working in the design field for several years, she found herself drawn back to her roots in fine art, creating pieces for the very designers she had once worked alongside. That return quickly became a full-time practice.
Her studio and showroom, Rielle’dio, is the intersection of art and interiors: a living space for collected works, vintage objects, and soulful design.
Gabrielle’s practice is rooted in the idea of lived-in beauty - pieces made to be felt, not just seen.
